Cactus beer, you say? CACTUS BEER INDEED!!

This succulent brew can be found at Fredricksburg Brewing Company in Fredricksburg, about an hour out of Austin. The smooth, fruity beer is definitely worth the drive, and if you happen to have a free day you can gander the town’s maintstreet with a beer in hand. Probably one of the only places you can walk around with a beer in public. LIKE!

Get this sampler of their beers for $7.50. Totally worth it to find the exact one you want and perfect if you can split it with someone:

Amongst a selection of other in-house brewed beers, the cactus wheat ale stands out, with it’s refreshingly sweet kick after the tiny bubbles pass.

Since opening in 1994, the brewpub has been cranking out delicious beers and receiving awards in competitions like the 2008 Great American Beer Festival and has also been deemed the “Best Brewpub in Texas” by Texas Monthly. (1)

Lagers, Porters, Ales, and IPA’s all compete for your attention on the beer list, each with accurate descriptions underneath.

Try the sampler and find your favorite!
